Geoff Achison
Geoff Achison heeft een reputatie als “Guitarist’s Guitarist”. Hij begon zijn blues carièrre bij Dutch Tilders & The Blues Club maar ging zijn eigen weg in 1995 en vormde zijn band “The Soul Diggers”. Geoff groeide op in het rurale Australië maar raakte van jongsafaan gepassioneerd door blues en leerde zichzelf gitaar spelen op het instrument van zijn moeder. De eerste eigen CD (Mystery Train) kwam er in 1996, inmiddels heeft hij er al zes op zijn palmares plus de uitstekende DVD Souldiggin’. In Europa heeft hij een behoorlijke reputatie, zeker in de UK waar hij een tijd verbleef (in 1997). Hij is ook te horen op de CD Wild Life Action van Mike & The Mellotones uit 2003.
Geoff Achison has a reputation as a “Guitarist’s Guitarist”. Growing up in rural Australia, Geoff somehow developed a passion for American blues music and taught himself to play on his mother’s beat up acoustic guitar. In his early 20’s he found employment as lead guitarist with Melbourne’s top blues band ‘Dutch Tilders & The Blues Club’. Geoff departed in 1995 to pursue his own musical ideas forming the first incarnation of his own band, The Souldiggers and releasing the first of six CD’s of his own blues/funk flavoured materiel plus the excellent DVD Souldiggin’. Geoff started his worldwide explorations back in 1995 with his first trip to the US. Moving to London in 1997. He established a UK following eventually recording a live album with a British version of the band. Geoff can also be heard on the CD Wild Life Action from Mike & The Mellotones (2003).
